I went on 29 May 09.. The plane was damn empty.. I had the whole row of 4 seats to myself hahah shiok! And guess what, dessert on the plane was Ben and Jerry's ice-cream.. yum!.. Finally arrived at 2pm plus.. left the airport and checked into a 1-bedroom apartment in Medina Grand Perth. Awesome! Totally self sustainable with laundry facilities and a view of Perth Convention Centre. Not exactly that far from city centre, cos you just got to walk along Mounts Bay Road to get back to St George Tce and walk towards the city centre. Not a bad venue. I had like 2 to 3 hours to myself, so i spent the time playing scrabble and watching the news.. Then I realised, it's because of the H1N1 flu that the plane was empty.. Victoria State (that's where Melbourne is) has the worst hit, New South Wales (that's where Sydney is) was next in line.. WA had 1 case when I was there. *Gulp~* Fingers were crossed that I won't have to be quarantined when I'm back in SG, and that Darling will be safe in Perth as he would have to stay here at least till Aug/Sept.. And if he's lucky, he'll need to stay a little longer :S.. anyway, here's some picture of the apartment's interior.

I've got no idea where in the map it's on haha. So I searched and found this in the web, that's the best I've got hahah:
Well yea, anyway, we ate penang laksa and cha kway teow, yummy! It's the first time I ate Penang laksa, and it's not in penang. Haahha. I've been to Penang before of course, but i didn't eat the laksa there. Yummy! I miss it now haha. We drank coffee too.. hmm not too fantastic though ahha

the erm.. coffee. Mocha for me and Chai Latte for Darling heee...I like walking in the market.. It's like the haven of fresh fruits and vegetables.. Of course, we bought some fruits back home =). Now, let me reveal the car we rented....I think it's... Audi TT Roadster =D..

After breakfast was shopping! haha I forgot where's this place where we shopped. Was it at Hillarys? ahaha oops really forgot the name.. I bought clothes from esprit! that's erm $71.. which I wore later in the evening..Darling bought something too I think.. very vague memory of where we went cos the centre was big, and we went walking around into quite afew shops whahaha.. In the evening, went to his instructor, Kenneth's apartment near Burswood for a BBQ..the apartment was great and has a view of the erm.. do you call that lake or river? haha Anyway, i didn't bring my camera down, so didn't take any pictures. Pictures were taken using his friend's camera, which I extracted from facebook..It's cooling to sit by the balcony and enjoy the night =D there was a slight drizzle, but it wasn't too bad, didn't have to retreat back into the hall to hide from the rain =).. We played something like Jenga, it was exciting!! haha too bad there wasn't any pictures taken, you guys should really see how we tried to save the thing from falling by holding on to it, and then twisting the whole tower so that it balanced. The top of the tower was spiral in the end hahaha
On sunday, we went up the mountains for some horse riding too.. Well.. we wanted to, but we were pretty late, so we'll be postponing it to say aug/sept 09 =).. nevertheless, it was good drive there and back ehehe.. slight drizzle came in after a while..nevermind.. Dim sum at Dragon Palace was next! ahahha quite a crowded since, which i didn't take any pictures too hehe.. Lao Sa Bao was what I was looking forward too hahah super sinful, but nice =p. And here's some pictures on the way back to Perth from the horse riding area, which was about 30min drive from Midland.
It'll be quite a shame to actually not use the laundry and kitchen facilities available in the apartment. So we bought some food and Darling cooked spaghetti and salmon! The salmon was just slightly cooked on the outside, and raw in the inside, coupled with hollandaise sauce, emm emm yummy!!! Spaghetti was fried in olive oil, with bacon bits and chilli flakes and garlic. Wow all my favourite food in one dinner! yummy! Darling's a great cook~.. I only made grapefruit + orange juice.. abit too acidic for stomach ahaha.. Of course, we had some cut apples (green and golden) which we bought from Wanneroo the day before =).. So.. That's why you'll see me lying on sofa, watching Tv, snapping pictures ahahha.. Yummy pictures coming up next!
After dinner, was laundry, and after laundry was some dessert! My belated birthday cake from Darling.. bought it from Miss Maud.. hehe chocolate mud cake hehe! And we had ice wine too!!! yummy! hehe thanks for the cakw, love!
1 June.. so fast.. have to go back liao.. We went for breakfast at Bar 138.. which was at the other Medina at Barrack St. I love the breakfast there! hehe I had omelette this time round, yummmmmmmy! fragant! It started raining after breakfast, and Dear had to go into the rain to go to the CPP to get the car..Time to go to the airport..We saw a rainbow on the way to the airport.. the last time I saw a rainbow in Perth was like in secondary 3 or something when we were on our way to Pinnacle.. that's like... 10 years ago! ahhaha
The plane was empty, what surprised me was, it was more empty that the time when I flew here. It dawned on me why the counter lady actually bothered to ask if I preferred an aisle or a window seat for the flight.. When i went to the toilet, the next cabin was more empty then mine.. wow, H1N1 is powerful..
whew.. long post... Spent close to 3 hours blogging this and uploading the pictures.. of course, it included some walking around like making orange juice for mum and cooking rice for today's dinner..
I look forward to Aug/Sept to go back to Perth again =D.. Hope by then, H1N1 bug is more stable......!!!
okie, i need to go get the m&m's orange chocolate from the fridge =P
